Who We Are
Chrisam Naturals was born in 2015, when I started my natural hair journey. It stems from a personal journey filled with discovery and challenges. My journey began with a struggle to find products that cater to the unique needs of my natural hair. When managing my coils hair type, I found myself frustrated by store-bought products that didn’t provide the right moisture, ingredients, or long-term health for my hair.
The inspiration for starting my own hair line came from experimentation, realising that natural ingredients worked wonders. I got the desire to share my findings with others, and my husband Samba encouraged me to start my hair and skin care products since he has witnessed me doing my DIYs in my kitchen and gradually tracking my hair growth. This inspired me to explore in-depth the use of ayurvedic herbs, creating DIY hair masks, oils, soaps, and treatments focusing on what truly nourishes my hair and skin from within. After witnessing the results firsthand, the idea of creating a line specifically for people with similar needs became a passion project. Chrisam Naturals was named with the combination of my name and my husband’s name and the use of natural ingredients.
Additionally, I had a strong desire to encourage other people to value their own natural beauty. The natural hair movement has gained momentum as more people embrace their texture and break free from societal pressures around hair standards. I have recognised a gap in the market for products that celebrate and enhance natural hair rather than attempt to “manage” or “tame” it. By creating my line, I am contributing to this cultural shift, offering products that reflect love for natural hair.
